General Atomics

General Atomics was founded in 1955 in San Diego, California for the purpose of harnessing the power of nuclear technologies for the benefit of mankind. General Atomics’ basic research into fission and fusion has matured into competence in many technologies, making General Atomics and its affiliated companies one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development.

The Photonics Division was established in 2000 with the intent of driving new and developing photonics technology into advanced commercial laser systems, government and custom laser systems, and high quality, high damage threshold diffractive optics.
