Thin Foil Hole Drilling: Using an Everest 532 nm laser operating at a power level of 8W, five thousand holes were laser micro-machined into thin foil sheets of Gadolinium for a customer’s application. Each 100 µm diameter hole, with minimal taper, was laser drilled in only 200 ms.
